NYT Strands Game
‘Strands NYT’ is becoming the most popular game after Wordle and Connections. The game has many amazing twists. Players are presented with a six-by-eight grid of letters. The game aims to find the words on the board that fall under the day’s theme.
Another challenge in the game is to find Spangram. Spangram defines the day’s theme. It touches two opposite sides of the puzzle. The other theme words are highlighted in blue whereas only Spangram is highlighted in yellow.
How Do Hints Work In Strands?
When you need hints, find non-theme words with at least four letters or more to get hints. Every 3 non-theme words offer theme-word letters to unscramble in the blue dashed circle.
Hints show the letters of a theme word. If already a hint appears on the board, the next hint shows the letters to form that word.

- It is the longest word that touches two opposite sides of the board.
- It is highlighted in yellow when you find it.
Earn Hints
- For every 3 non-theme words you earn a hint.
- The hints show the letters of a theme word.
- If there is already an active hint on the board, a hint will show the sequence of the letters.
