Each group is aligned with a color-coded difficulty level. The color-coded groups are yellow, green, blue, and purple. Among these groups yellow is the simplest and purple is the hardest.

How to Play NYT Connections

New York Times Connections have 16 words in a 4x4 grid. Puzzlers need to create four groups of four items. Each group category must have a common theme.  Connections groups can be synonyms, animals, food ingredients, movie characters, book titles, etc.

Each day the puzzle is edited by ‘Wyna Liu’. Each group is assigned color-coded difficulty levels. The color-coded groups are Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple. The yellow is the easiest or most straightforward, and the purple is the hardest or trickiest group.
